Planet Side 2 Review

Sony Online Entertainment's flagship MMOFPS was a real fresh mix up for this overly congested theme park based market. Now the game has taken PVP turned it on its head and has actually made major improvements over the traditional instanced battleground pvp. Now the real question is can SOE still stand up to the other companies that are  beating them in profits? That is hard to say, but one thing that is hard to disagree with is Planet Side 2 has left a mark on this gaming industry.



In the above video I go over the classes in the game and tell you what weapons they use and what the main job is for each of the classes. So please feel free to watch the video to see the classes because I will go over the rest of the features and by pass the classes in part of the review process.

PVP

The pvp of this game is just full of action combat whether it is the enemy tanks or air support you know that you will need to watch your back. There are some issues though that this game faces and it is mostly balance issues. When you are fighting you will notice that the air support using rocket pods are far more powerful than any of your tanks. This is by design but the game added this but there was no scissors to the paper. A game like this needs a rock paper scissors rule not rock paper bazooka it does not work.

PVE 

This is acutally none existant in the game which is very sad and can be annoying to what we call "care bears". These are players that will avoid pvp and only PVE (player vs enviroment). So if you like pve more than pvp you might want to avoid the game because there is no pve in this game.

Overall Game Play

The game does play well for most of the day towards late night they are forced to reset the area because the amount of combat and sudden changes make it to difficult for the server to handle. So the GM (game master) has to get on and the reset the area. Now there is also the issue of hacking, and this issue has completley gotten out of hand. It is okay if I see the occasional hacker (not saying hacking is good) but to see 3-10 a day is completley out of hand and SOE needs to get control over this issue.

My Thoughts

This game is very well designed and I like the uniqueness of the game but I feel that the game has a bad community since your own factions can and will kill you. I have been shot down from my own team mates and they tell me who killed me. So what i do to him is i find him and I kamikaze my ship into them.. It is all in good fun though kill/death ratio means nothing and I play the game because it breaks the grind of other games and it is fun. Developers Asking For Money On Kickstarter

It seems like a new and popular trend is starting with game developers and that is using Kick Starter to get money to fund their games. Now lets keep in mind they are not asking for a full amount they are asking for a couple million so that the game can be finished. This issue though seems to be very divided, and I am going to be giving my thoughts and ideas about games that start on Kick Starter. Please note that you may have a different opinion on the matter but here is what I think about these types of requests from developers.

Benefits

The benefits of developers using the kick starter campaign is that they can save millions of dollars and offer players a little reward from doing it. They also get their name out very well for instance Camelot Unchained is doing it and ever since they have their popularity has had a huge spike because it was in a way free advertising. It allows the players to feel more involved and likely to play the game since they feel like the helped create it. This also allows them to create the job easier this is because they are getting a small, but steady income from the donations as they continue to work on the game. 

Down Side

Some players will feel discouraged from buying or playing a game that needed funds from donations. This can give the game and the company a bad reputation and then lead to a bad community. The players will also be spending more money through those donations and in the end might not be satisfied with the game. This will lead to rage from the player base realising that they wasted their money. 

My Side

I don't like the idea of donating money so that the game can be finished with development because what happens when that money runs out? How will the game survive? It is the same thing with pre ordering you don't generally pre order a game unless you want to be playing the first day to unlock and complete as much as you can. THIS IS THE SAME SCENARIO AND PRE ORDERING PEOPLE! Except you have even less of a clue BECAUSE the game is not even fully developed yet.

I am not trying to say that using Kick Starter is wrong but ask yourself this are you willing to pre order a game that is not even finished being developed? If your answer is yes then more power to you. If it is no then wait for the release of the game and then make your choice.

Black Ops 2 Review

Black-ops 2 is another game in the well known Call of Duty series. This game is a lot like all the other games it has multiplayer, and it is played almost exactly the same as the other ones. However, in this the kill streaks are a little different. They have a dragon fire which is a remote controlled aerial assault drone. Which means that you wirelessly control an air assault drone. It only has a mini gun attached and it is great for killing enemies but, it is easy to be destroyed. The way that you get kill streaks is also different it is by score. You get it up by anyway that you get a score. This makes it a lot easier to get points. Another thing is that when you get a kill with a kill streak it doesn't get you as many points. Which will make it a little harder to get kill streaks but in all the kill streaks are a lot easier to get. Another difference in multiplayer is obviously the maps because now they are a lot closer quarters. Like in comparison cracked compared to Cargo. Cargo has a lot of cover and some buildings but in cracked there is just a large path straight thru the middle of the map. This makes the map a lot more fast paced because you can never know what is coming out of the corner you have to be prepared for anything. This can make it more fun but also more dangerous.



Zombies are also a lot more differences there are more modes than just standard mode. There is Survival, Tranzit and Grief. Survival is the standard mode. It is all you could imagine but depending on the map you are playing on changes what you get to work with. The perks wall guns and whether or not you have the Pack-a-Punch. This can be a game changer. Next is Tranzit. This is where you start off in bus depot and you take a bus to all the different areas adding in two more a power station and a gas station. This is really fun and is what most people play. You can Pack-a-Punch, get any perk that they allow within any of the three areas, and go to two new areas which are Gas Station and power plant this makes for a much more fun gaming experience. Now finally there is grief. This is where there are two teams composed of four players compete in the same area trying to survive. You can only do this in town and farm. You can knife the other team to stop them from reviving their teammate you can throw an EMP grenade to close the box and on perks to get rid of them for a short while and throw rotten meat gotten from a power-up to attract zombies at them and kill them.



The campaign is also completely different then the other games. At the start at every mission you can create a class pick its guns perks and tactical and lethal grenades. Also early on you can get to pick what mission to do next. Plus obviously the story is much different. You are trying to capture the leader of a drug cartel named Raul Menedez. His a very dangerous man and his motives are sort of understandable. I can't tell you his motives though because then I would be spoiling. There is something else new you choices can affect what happens. This is a completely different ball game. Are you ready for it?

Tera Sorcerer Skill List

Before I go into the full skill list let me break down what the sorcerer is. The sorcerer in Tera is a character of mass destruction. They are meant to go into a fight and kill the enemy as fast as they can with fire and to get away without getting hurt. This class is not meant to be a tank so you will be away from the fight shooting fire and ice or you will be waiting for your group's tank to run in and gather the aggro. The key thing to remember with the sorcerer is to dodge when you most need it. You will run into very powerful enemies, and if you do not dodge correctly it will likely lead to your death. You are not a tank you are not a healer you are fireballing sorcerer. Click the read more link to see the full list of sorcerer skills.

1. Fireball: Shoot a fireball at a target, doing more damage if the target is nearby.

1. Flame Pillar: Summon a column of flame directly in front of you that burns any enemies within it.

2. Mana Infusion: Replenishes some of your mana over several seconds.

2. Backstep Take: quick steps backward and out of harm's way.

4. Magma Bomb: Arc a fiery projectile several meters away, where it explodes, damaging anyone nearby.

6. Painful Trap: Set a trap that explodes in all directions when stepped on. Trap lasts ten seconds.

8. Time Gyre: Freezes any targets you lock onto in place and prevents players from dodging or teleporting.

10. Ice Needle: Launch an ice shard that briefly slows the movement speed of each target it pierces.

12. Retaliate Leap: to your feet while attacking your target. You can use this skill only when knocked down.

14. Painblast: Several targets within a circle several meters in front of you writhe in agony and take damage for several seconds. This skill inflicts less damage on other players.

14. Mana Siphon: Charge up and absorb mana from the targeted nearby foe.

16. Glacial Retreat: Freeze the ground before you as you leap backward, damaging and briefly decreasing the movement speed of those nearby.

18. Arcane Pulse: You charge up a slow-moving but deadly energy ball that plows through multiple enemies inflicting damage.

20. Flaming Barrage: Lock onto several nearby foes and un-erringly fire bolts of white-hot flame at them.

22. Teleport Jaunt: Teleport a short distance in the direction the camera faces.

24. Mindblast Briefly: put to sleep any targets in a circle centered several meters in front of you.

26. Fireblast: Blast any targets in a large flaming circle a few meters in front of you.

28. Lightning: Trap Set a trap with a ten-second duration that briefly paralyzes anyone in its area of effect.

32. Overchannel: Your next attack within a few seconds does more damage.

36. Void Pulse: Launch a powerful sphere at a single target.

40. Mana Barrier: Cast a magical shield that absorbs up to a fixed amount of damage, burning mana to do so.

44. Burning Breath: An ember of energy locks onto and drills into targets, burning them slowly. This skill does less damage to other players.

48. Burst of Celerity: Your attack speed increases briefly.

52. Hail Storm: Summons an ice storm in front of you that damages and progressively slows everyone within it.

56. Nerve Exhaustion: Lock onto and hex nearby players so that they can't use the basic attacks that recharge their mana.

58. Mana Volley: The target players you lock onto slowly bleed mana, which you drink in.

As you can see these skills are very fixated to do a lot of damage and to give you some way to keep distance from the enemy. You will learn while playing that there is a time and a place for everything that includes your sorcerer's skills.

How to Quick Scope

Quick scoping is an art used by many call of duty players. It is for those who are fast paced and love action. This is when you take any sniper rifle and then grab perks that make your gun faster in any way possible. To perform a Quick-Scope you take your sniper rifle and then real quickly aim and shoot as soon as you see the inside of your scope but if you need to make sure that your scope is on the target to make it more accurate but, make sure that you don't stay in the scope for more than one second. This is because there is a large chance that if you take too long then the enemy might kill you and you run the risk of giving away your location if you miss your target.

Why Should I Use This Technique? 

The reason that you might want to consider Quick-Scoping is that it makes the game faster paced  and it allows you to have more fun The other reason is that if you get good enough then you make it a lot easier to kill enemies. I can tell you that through personal experience that this is fun and makes you K/D ratio go thru the roof. Also if you are struggling to get those wins that this is a perfect way to go. You could also always change to the traditional sniping technique to give your teammate support while he or she is trying to, capture a point, and when you are capturing you can snipe the snipers and anyone that is also attacking you.

What Makes It So Difficult?

When trying to quick scope if you are like one of the other authors of this page you will realize that it is not the easiest thing to do especially if you don't have a lot of experience then you will find it awkward and slow. However with time you will see that it is either really annoying or it is very effective. You are basically going to  quickly enter your scope or site, and fire then you leave the scope.
