Steve Ballmer was always a very passionate CEO and therefore his last meeting had to be one that everyone remembered. He has mentioned that he would leave Microsoft, and he is making this last meeting something that we are all going to remember.






Steve Ballmer has been at Microsoft for 33 years, and all that love for the company was let out at this meeting.

Steve let out a very emotional saying right before he let out tears while on the stage.

"Soak it in, you work for the greatest company in the world," Ballmer screamed on stage as his eyes welled up with tears.

Ballmer has always loved the company, and the people in it. Even after all these years that love for the company is still strong even after he leaves the company. His speech was very emotional, and The Verge has the exclusive video which you can see right below.

As you can see the speech was very heart felled, and it leaves us with questions like. Who will take his place, what will be the future of Microsoft.

The company has made questionable moves, and Steve Ballmer was a CEO that you either loved, or you hated him.

People loved what he did with getting Microsoft, into the mobile market, but they also hate him for Windows 8 and questionable business moves like making an RT and a PRO version of their Surface. This was arguably the worst decision he made since it made no sense to anyone.

Microsoft will have a bright future after his leave, but for now lets all bid farewell to Steve Ballmer and his work at Microsoft.

Microsoft Joins Other Tech Companies With Buybacks

Microsoft is starting to have buybacks a buyback program that has a value of roughly 40 billion dollars.

A buyback is essentially where the company buys back their stock, in large amounts and the reason that they are doing it, is because it is more profitable for them rather then investing in another company. Microsoft is following what other tech companies, such as Apple are doing, and that is that they have so much money that they don't need to invest in other companies, and they are doing it to increase the value of the stock.

When an investor looks at a stock we need to look at the value of the stock, and look at what are the chances of this stick increasing. Microsoft's stock barely moves so as an investor why do I want to invest into a company where I am making pennies? So by buying back these stocks there are less around, and then the value of it goes up. When you analyze we mentioned we don't like making pennies, so Microsoft realizes "why would someone invest in our stock over Google's?" The fact is investing and making pennies is not good enough so by buying back those stocks it takes less shares to be sold for that value to increase.

Tech companies are the most inclined companies to buy back stock, and that is generally because there was too much stock in the market, so Microsoft might be doing something really smart. If Microsoft had a stock value of Google then the common man will be more inclined to invest in them.

Now wall street looked at this and the stock rose about $0.13 which is very little, and that is because wall street wants more stock and a larger program. More stock means that there are more potential sales however we have two types of investors.

Those who want to see large numbers and want to make a large amount of money. These people are more inclined to buy from Google.

Then we have those who are safer investors and they are looking for small but consistent change. They would go after Microsoft, because the stock does not really decline that much.

We will have to wait and see what this does to their value, but Microsoft does not really mess up on their buyback deals.

Microsoft To Buy Nokia's Phone Division

Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Nokia's phone division. The company is spending 7 billion dollars, and it will own all of the Phone Division of Nokia, as well as all its patents. This deal is an attempt for Microsoft to bolster its ownership of the mobile phone market. However was this truly a smart move for Microsoft? The company has failed with its latest Windows RT tablet, and they are barely beating BlackBerry when it comes to their market share.


Microsoft is paying seven billion dollars for the mobile phone division of this company. This deal was predicted earlier this deal and was surfacing around the internet. However will Microsoft buy the entire company at a later time? Nokia holds many high level patents that Microsoft could use to help dominate the market. So we might be expecting a larger deal in the long run.

Was this a smart move, Microsoft never took the mobile phone market by surprise, and they never did anything revolutionary. However at the same time this is their chance to manufacture their own phones, and to own the patents from Nokia which was at one point a powerful contender in the mobile phone market.

Microsoft was going to make this deal sooner or later, skeptics were calling it ever since Nokia agreed to sell windows phone devices, and now they made a partial ownership. Before they buy the entire company, they would have to look at the benefits. What does Nokia make? Most people know them for their phones. What does Microsoft use Nokia for? They made their phones other then that, there was nothing else in it for Microsoft.

Nokia is one of those companies, that had a lot of potential, and then it went down hill extremely quickly. It went bad for them when they agreed to use Windows Phone, that was when their market share went down to less then 3%.

Microsoft mostly did this to bring down costs, because Nokia was another party and the more parties that you have the more expensive it is for the product to be made. Microsoft cut out the middleman which in this case was Nokia. Now they can have a larger profit margin.

Nokia is the only reason that Microsoft made it to where it is in today's market, and now that they are gone we are relying on the full creativity of Microsoft.

Nokia Android Phone Was Real

We now know that Nokia was experimenting with an Android device, before Microsoft bought out their mobile phone division. This shows that Nokia had a plan B in case of the failure of the Windows 8 devices.

This team was very small, and did not have a huge impact on the company, but it shows that they feared possible failure from the Windows Phone, or that they were interested in growing their company.

Now according to their acquisition deal with Microsoft, the Android division was not even brought up, Microsoft did not want anything to do with those prototype devices, so this shows that Microsoft is more concerned with dominating with their own phone, rather then getting the hardware, and then selling it with the Android Operating System.

Back in 2011 Nokia agreed to sell Windows Phone devices, and that contract would have been over during 2014 which would mean that Nokia would have probably dropped the Windows Phone, and instead would have used the more popular Android operating system.

Nokia will forever be haunted by the mistake of choosing Windows Phone over Android. The company has 3% of the smart phone market, but back in 2010 it had about 32% and people always look back and wondered what would have happened if they chose Android. As we know Android is the most common mobile operating system on the planet, while Microsoft and Blackberry have very little of the market and are both doing very poorly.

Since Nokia has sold their mobile phone division, this project will be gone, and then Nokia and us will be left with the question. What If?

Microsoft And Google To Sue The NSA

Google and Microsoft are going through with their lawsuit against the NSA. They are suing for the request that it makes to be made public. After they tried to reach an agreement with the NSA they ended up failing in the end, and now they are going to continue the lawsuit. This is the first time that we have seen these tech giants work together to try and solve a problem


Microsoft's Vice President Stated
"For example, we believe it is vital to publish information that clearly shows the number of national security demands for user content, such as the text of an email. These figures should be published in a form that is distinct from the number of demands that capture only metadata such as the subscriber information associated with a particular email address. We believe it's possible to publish these figures in a manner that avoids putting security at risk. And unless this type of information is made public, any discussion of government practices and service provider obligations will remain incomplete."

They are taking a very strong stand against the government because they want all of their requests to be known by the general republic. While both of the companies comply with the requests on occasion they have the power to say no, and they have the ability to release some of the requests.

"But the Center for Democracy & Technology said the reports would fall short of the level of detail needed to provide 'meaningful transparency.'

'The new data that the government plans to publish is not nearly enough to justify the government's continued attempts to gag companies like Google and Microsoft and prevent them from engaging in meaningful transparency reporting of their own,' said Kevin Bankston, the CDT's director of free expression. 'This level of transparency is too little, too late, and is no replacement for hearing directly from Internet companies about how they and their users have been impacted by the NSA's programs.'"

Microsoft's Steve Ballmer Is To Retire Within 12 Months

Microsoft's Steve Ballmer is set to leave the company within the next 12 months. He is doing so so he can go into an early retirement, and this has caused the Microsoft stock to surge. Why is this happening, this is because Steve always had a different way of looking at things and now that he is on the way out we can expect Microsoft to evolve and move on past the decisions that many investors hated. However, how will this turn out for Microsoft?


Why Is he Leaving?
At this point it is unknown for the exact reason why he wants to retire, but he might just want to relax and enjoy the rest of his life.  He has been CEO ever since Bill Gates left. He has held this position for nearly 13 years, and he has had one of the longest lasting relationships with Bill Gates. Ever since he became the CEO back in January of 2000. This is a very long lasting position that he has held, and despite all of the criticism he still managed to revolutionize the way software is built.

Some would say that this was Steve's biggest mistake, but was it. From the number sold and the poor sales of tablet sales some would argue yes. But when you look at the Surface Pro, and look at how software is adapting to Windows 8, you can clearly see that Windows 8 had its place in the market, but it was done very poorly.

These games come from a variety of publishers including Microsoft Studios, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft. Desk and archive is a program that is meant to give those writers and heavy office users a break by organising their documents nad to make it easier for them to create more. This is one handy program especially if you like to keep tons of copies of your files on your computer, as well as to organize your articles. So if you are a blog writer, then you will want a program like this, and the best thing is that it takes little to no skill to learn, and if you can't do something, then they have instructional videos that you can follow, and they will teach you all of the tricks to the software.

Features

Create A New Document From Within The Program: You are able to create a new document from within in the program by clicking on the new tab which is located at the top left of your program. You can use this to save time and to keep your work more organized.

Template: You are able to turn everyone of your documents into it's own unique template. For instance lets say that you create a resume for your job interview, well you will never need to do it from scratch, because you saved that last one, and now the program knows to use that document as a template.

Edit As A New File: You can edit a file in a new document, this will copy that file, and all you to edit it without harming the original file. This is a very useful feature especially when working on an important document.

Tag Reminder: You can create a tag and then attach it to a document. This is used as a reminder system hence the name Tag Reminder. you will be able to set a time for this timer to go off, and it will remind you to do what you labeled it, and it will display the corresponding document in a pop-up window.

Exclusion Tags: These tags are meant to prevent certain documents from following your other tags.

Track Unfinished Projects: You can have this program monitor documents that you have not classified as finished and will warn you to continue to work on them. This is great to use especially if you have forgotten to set a tag reminder.

Filter: You are able to filter your documents to have certain ones placed on certain sections. This is great for keeping your work documents separate from your website documents or you book pages.

My Experience
I found the program to be amazing especially for someone like me who constantly tries to organize his documents into folders and then sub folders. This was a faster way, but with the growth of the cloud and Microsoft new Office 365 how long until a program like this is throw away and marked as useless. If you are not a fan of the cloud then this is a must have program, but if you tend to write your documents in the cloud then you might want to pass on this program.

Why Only 4.5 Out Of  5?
While the program installs well is loaded with features it is missing some key elements. The one thing that struck me as annoying was the interface. The interface felt very clunky, and very Windows XP like. The interface needs to be more fluid and then it will earn a five out of five, but as it stands right now it deserves a 4.5 out of 5.

Bing Child Abuse Pop-Up Warning

Bing has added a new filter for its UK users about illegal images that they are searching for. This has been seen with images that show child abuse. This change has occurred after the UK has asked for search engines to start filter out content which is include child abuse, exploitation, and other keywords to be filtered. When this pop-up is shown the reader will not be able to continue to their content and are asked to visit the Stopitnow.org so that they can receive help.



Microsoft is in the process of trying to filter out as much of this offensive content that they can however will it work?

The issue with this plan is that they cant filter out or stop users that are using a VPN or proxy service which would hide their IP. They could make it appear that they are in another country thus rendering this defense system useless now the advantage to this is that most people don't know what a VPN/Proxy service is. Therefore,they can crackdown on a decent amount of  people who are looking for this content.

How Does Microsoft Know What Terms To Block?

Microsoft is using a list of keywords that is given to them by The Child Protection And Exploitation Centre. They are in charge of monitoring the keywords that could lead to child abuse pages and images they do update the list so that Microsoft can receive all of the updates to keep their protection system up to date. This list is meant to block words and their number off sets. Such as people can generally outsmart an engine or filter by changing a letter such as O and will use a 0 to bypass the block and still find the content that they were looking for.

Will This Move To The US?
As of now there is no requirement on Microsoft's side to block such content in the United States however if the government ever asked there is a good chance that  they would comply. Now the UK is the only country that is blocking this type of content however Microsoft might start to branch this blocking to other European nations since they might all agree on this issue. As it stands Microsoft has not stated that they will make this for every country.

What About Google and Yahoo?
Google has been working on this issue for a long time now and has complied with the British Government to put forth more effort to stop the viewing of child abuse, child exploitation. Yahoo is also going to step up its game when it comes to blocking this content but of these 3 companies it looks like Microsoft is actually placing forth the most effort to block the viewing of the content by forcing them to go else where. The disadvantage is that you can get past it really easy. Google and Yahoo block the source of the content to prevent it in their results. Only time will show who is doing the better job, but we will find out soon.

Jumpshot is a little program that was funded through kick starter with a very simple idea. The idea was to create an all in one fix it tool for your computer. Jumpshot was able to do it, and they did it in a friendly fashion. Jumpshot uses these cartoon characters to explain what the program does. Lets take a look at the inner workings of the program known as Jumpshot.

My Experience

When I downloaded Jumpshot I gave the program 3 tries to work without using their simple UI version. Jumpshot failed to clean my computer after all 3 tests. I then proceeded to use their Simple UI, and it hang after three more tests. I gave Jumpshot 5 minutes, and it froze at the same point, now unless the program takes more than 5 minutes to start the cleaning process, then they need to work on that. However it didn't work because everytime Jumpshot told me that they were unable to clean my computer and asked to restart the process. This program sounds great on pen and paper, but if it fails after 6 different tests, then there is something fundamentally wrong. Maybe the program is not fully windows 8 compatible. Maybe the program is broken. I don't know the source of the problem, but there is a problem that needs to be sorted out.

Xbox One Game Prices

Yes there is no an "official" price for Xbox one games. When it comes to setting the prices of these games, the prices are generally set by the developer of the console. Microsoft has announced that Halo 5 will be only $60 which was the same price as halo 4. The critically acclaimed Call Of Duty Ghosts will also be $60. Why are the prices set at this price? What about the PS4? Let's Find out.



Why $60
This is actually a price that I was expecting, and that is because it is becoming cheaper to produce games. Now some of you are wondering, how is this cheaper when it is the same price? The answer is simple these next-gen games are expected to be on more powerful engines, better graphics would be included with this engine, and the combat will be more dynamic. Now as an example when the PS 3 was released it was roughly $700 the PS 4 which has far better specs will be $400 see this is a better product, and it is cheaper than the initial cost of the less powerful version. Not to mention Microsoft is trying to keep costs down to sell more copies. When it comes to games it matters how many you can sell rather than the price of which the game is set to.

What About The PS 4?
Well good news for you, the PS 4 games will also be $60. The whole gaming market seems to be at that point of equilibrium, and they want to keep there are as long as they can. Now SONY has been hiding one piece of information from people and that is that YOU DO NEED TO PAY FOR MULTIPLAYER. A common misconception is that you won't need to pay for internet on the PS 4 well  you do unless you are playing on the same network. They want to keep the price the same, because people are already accustomed to the Xbox live prices. A yearly cost for Play Station Plus will be $50. Now the real question is can SONY get away with this? SONY in the Past has had a ton of issues with their Play Station Network being hacked and that is because they are less secure than Microsoft.

Summary
All games will cost $60 for these consoles, and the PS 4 will require a $50 a year subscription. Now these are the games from the consoles respective developers special editions of games we are expecting to cost around $80 and more depending on the game. Let's see how the game developers will react to these prices and whether they will stick with them. We will also see if PS 4 fans will rage over the Play Station Plus or if they will adjust and accept the new changes or if they will be up in arms.

Microsoft Backs Down on Xbox One Always On Internet

Yesterday Microsoft announced, that they were making some changes to the XBOX One. These new changes are what we wanted to hear, and they were relating to the always on Internet, and the process of trading, reselling, borrowing games from each-other. Microsoft has now backed down on their earlier statements, and while this helps them does this hurt SONY, and their main focus of the product. Let's explore the changes, and contemplate why it is they did this change.



Always On Internet
Microsoft before and during E3 stood by the idea of having an always on internet connection. However, they now have stated that " "An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24-hour connection requirement, and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360." This announcement was terrific for gamers, but lets see how the developers will respond. Before Microsoft announced this change, they contacted various developers, but we have not heard any public response from them as of now. The interesting thing, is that Microsoft was so confident in the idea, but the root of this change might be SONY. During E3 SONY almost mocked the Xbox One for requiring an always on internet. After which SONY had a huge boost in support by gamers, and for good reason. Now Microsoft has changed to accommodate those gamers who sided with SONY. 

Trading, Selling, Borrowing Games
Microsoft also made it clear that selling used games or buying them would be very difficult and nearly impossible to trade the games between friends. However,Microsoft has back tracked those earlier comments and has now announced that "Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360." Now we will be able to do everything like the Xbox 360. The reason for this, is Microsoft has realized that people do buy a lot of Used Games. This is going to bring in more revenue, in theory because now they have attracted a larger market.

Summary
Now that Microsoft has backed down those earlier comments, and we have the right to trade our games and use them without internet access what will they do next. If Microsoft continues their old stunts they will insult the other product and end up out selling them using their heavily aggressive advertising strategies. What of the game developers? What about the DMCA? Will any of them give us an announcement? As it looks right now, we will not receive any major announcements.

Best Microsoft Office Replacements (Desktop)

When it comes Microsoft office there is not a whole lot of competition that can beat the programs unique features, but those nice features come with a hefty price tag. Now while the office 360 program is meant to be cheaper some people prefer a free desktop version however such an item does not exist. So today I will give you 2 recommendations that I feel are the best office replacement software. Please remember that they are in order of best to worst and while these are free they might not have all of the features of Microsoft office.

1. Libre Office

Libre office is probably the most recognized free office replacement software that there is, but that is not what makes it the best. The program is better than its competitors because they allow third party extensions to be created. Now this program may be awkward to start with however once you get the program you will realize that it is very similar to Microsoft Office. Now you will need to remember that since this program is not Microsoft Office the default saving for mat is Open Document File or what ever application that you are using. These applications are in greater variety then you would think because the traditional office suite. Word, PowerPoint, Excel this is what we use. Microsoft said that is not enough so we get more items such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, One Note, Outlook, Access. Now Libre Office offers some different programs that you will appreciate. Libre Office includes: Text (Word), Spreadsheet (Excel), Presentation (PowerPoint), Drawing (Think of it as paint), Database (Access), Formula (Math, calculator equations). Then you can go to their main website and download add-ons for these programs which can make them easier and more effective. For instance right now I have Multi-Save, Alternative Searching, Additional Grammar and Spell Check.

2. Kingsoft Free Office Suite

This program comes from Kingsoft and offers strictly the basics. This program gives you Writer (Word) Presentation (PowerPoint), and Spreadsheet (Excel) while it does not come with a ton of added features this program is very solid and well funded. However compared to Libre Office, and Microsoft Office this program falls a little short. This program does not offer enough features paid or free version compared to their competitors, and they don't allow third part development like Libre office. Now while it does lack those features the program is actually a very powerful text editor and looks like a copy and pasted version of Microsoft Office. While that was an exaggeration this program does look a lot like Microsoft Office. So you should really only consider the program if you are very familiar with Microsoft Word.

Summary

When it comes to finding a desktop suite that offers the same features off Microsoft Office and is free there are few alternatives. However the option really is simple when it comes down to it and that is to use Libre Office. But everyone has their own opinion so tell me your thoughts about these programs below.

Skype Bitcoin Malware

The skype related malware is still going around, and it has turned thousands or even millions of computers into zombie computers that are meant to farm Bitcoins. This Bitcoin related malware has only made it more difficult for the currency to be taken seriously. However this is one threat that you don't want to have, but it is fairly easy to remove.

How You Got It
This malware is meant to spam onto skype and possibly other social networks such as Facebook. It has been reported that the most common message includes something about a picture of the person that they are referring to and when you click on the link you will download the malware. This might even take control of the account and use it for more spam links, but this was not confirmed. It is meant to infect the machine and farm the virtual currency the Bitcoin which has had a growing controversy over the years. However, they are becoming more valuable and are trading at a price equivalent to $100 +.

What It Looks Like
According to Kaspersky this malware is running under the process name of bitcoin-miner.exe -a 60 -l no -o http://suppp.cantvenlinea.biz:1942/ -u XXXXXX0000001@gmail.com -p XXXXXXXX according to Kaspersky. They also censored out the important information with XXXXX's so that no one would be harmed from this information. The process will farm them and send the information to the specified "wallet". This malware will not cause major damage to the machine, but it is best to change account information and to clean the computer with the secondary scanners below. So you can tell if you have this malware if you go into your task manager and go to the process' tab and if you have something with the above process name then you do have the malware. Your computer might also be running very poorly because the farming is meant to use as much CPU power so that the creator gets the most amount of coins.

Removal

You can use the secondary scanners below to remove the malware but you should also delete the original file first and then scan with the scanners below. The best thing is that the computer's internet will not be affected meaning that you can easily download one of the scanners below. Then go into your Microsoft account and change the password to Skype because that is one common mistake with a malware infection and that is people don't change their login information which means that you can still be sending out the spam.
Goal Of The Malware
This malware was made strictly for farming Bitcoins so that someone could make money and you were the computer power. Now the way that the malware was created and how well it grew is some what scary to Security Experts but at the same time you have to give the creator credit for being able to infect the thousands maybe millions of computers.
