May people when on the go want to be able to work on their documents whether it is for school or their jobs they need to work. So they naturally will go into their phone's app store and say where is my office? The answer is simple Microsoft does not make the app and they don't plan to. This has allowed Google to buy one of the products called Quick Office, so they can compete with Microsoft. So I will be giving a list of office replacements that are free.
Microsoft does not offer a mobile version of their office for android and Mac devices. Many people need to work while on the move so they will go and Microsoft does not seem to have any motive to make one they are offering a web based office suite called office 365. But they are not aiming to create an app dedicated to word.
What Are My Options?
Your options are not as limited as you would think and I will cover free programs that you can use and I will cover office 365. There are some apps that offer the functionality of an office suite. The free programs are quick office which is included on Android devices and the other is king soft which is extremely similar to word. You can also use office 365 however it is web based and I find it to be more awkward when trying to write.
Which Do You Recommend?
I personally recommend using quick office since it is easy and it offers a lot of functionality. It also has arguably the cleanest interface it is also does not look completely look like Microsoft word. Not to mention unlike the King-soft it has a PDF reader which means that you won't need Adobe reader. Also since Google bought quick office you can be sure that this is a trusted company.
Do I Need To Pay for a Mobile Office Program?
No you don't you will see some office suites that are charging 15$ on the Google play store which is too much. The worst part is people continue to buy it thinking they are getting their money's worth.
